In 2011, she appeared in My Week with Marilyn, playing Lucy Armstrong. She then starred in The Perks of Being a Wallflower in 2012.
The film was very different from the fantasy world of Harry Potter. Watson played Sam, a free-spirited high-school student, allowing audiences to see her in a more mature dramatic role.
